Conquering 2011

This is my first blog post ever. How odd to write to my family through cyberspace!

I've loved reading your goals and now its my turn to contribute. I have to admit I have been a little nervous about putting my goals out there for everyone to read - but reading yours has me motivated. I'm hoping you guys will keep me on my toes from afar.

2011 Goals:
1. Get back into 'fighting' shape: Its time to lose the baby weight and get back into the physical shape I like to be in. Two ways I am going to accomplish this: exercising 5 times per week and getting 4 servings of fruits or vegetables a day. On New Year's Eve, I signed up for the Madison Half-Marathon on May 29th. I am going to run the entire thing and I have a goal time of under two hours. To be honest, I would really like to get in at 1:45 but we'll see... My training schedule starts in March; so I am going to work on getting into shape for January and February. I have also signed up for a pilates course around the block from my house two nights a week. I will keep you updated.

2. More patience:
I have been working on this for the past couple weeks since I finished the book. Mainly, this will benefit Eric. Probably people at work will enjoy this as well. Its a tough one and I am still figuring out how to conquer it.

3. Be more generous:
I really enjoyed this chapter and I think it can apply to me. I can be stingy with time, money and opening myself up to others. Also, still figuring out how to do this one but I am thinking about it.

4. Documenting our new family:
This goal started with the birth of Robert and my birthday present from Eric (a new camera!) I've been doing a pretty good job and was able to pull together a hardback photo book of 201o for Eric's Christmas present. For 2011, I plan to journal and document Robert's early days 5 times per week. I haven't journaled since I was a kid but I am already enjoying it. My second goal in this area is to create a photobook of my relationship with Eric to go along with his Christmas present. Many more photos and years to include in this book so its going to be a lot more work.

No more resolutions for now. That looks like a lot to work on!
